Junior Anti-Corruption Analyst, Paris

Description

The OECD is a global economic forum working with 34 member countries and more than 100 emerging and developing economies to make better policies for better lives. The Organisation provides a unique forum in which governments work together to share experiences on what drives economic, social and environmental change, seeking solutions to common problems.

They are looking for a person with excellent analytical and organisational skills to carry out high priority and high visibility work in the field of anti-corruption. S/he will work as part of a team of lawyers, supporting the work programme of the Working Group on Bribery (WGB) in International Business Transactions with the aim of ensuring the effective implementation of the OECD Convention and the Recommendation on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions. S/he will report to a Senior Anti-Corruption Analyst and will be under the general supervision of the Head of the Anti-Corruption Division.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Research and analysis;
  2. Drafting;
  3. Liaison, representation and communication.

Eligibility

  • An advanced university degree in law, preferably with a specialisation in criminal law;
  • Knowledge of comparative law, international law, corporate law, tax law and accounting would be an advantage. In addition, knowledge of both common law and civil law systems would be valuable;
  • A minimum of two years’ experience with criminal legislative analysis preferably gained through having worked in a public prosecutor’s office, court, ministry or government agency relating to areas covered by the Group’s work programme, or in private practice;
  • Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level;
  • Proficiency in Lexis/Nexis assisted legal research would be an advantage.

Remuneration

6 to 12 months temporary appointment starting immediately in Paris, France. Salary and conditions will depend on the experience of the chosen candidate as well as on his/her status (temporary staff or official).

European Youth Foundation (Re)mix Seminar in Strasbourg

Description

The European Youth Foundation (EYF) of the Council of Europe is organizing a seminar with representatives of international and local youth NGOs from 1 to 4 March 2016 (arrival on 1 March morning, departure on 5 March) in Strasbourg.

What will you learn?

  • Receive feedback and share information on the work with the EYF’s operational regulations;
  • Create a common understanding of work plans and pilot activities supported by the EYF;
  • Gain awareness about the different situations organisations address with the support of the EYF;
  • Revitalize transparency and accountability between the EYF and youth organisations;
  • Achieve open and informal networking between representatives of international and local NGOs;
  • Share best practices concerning projects, for example how to integrate a gender perspective, how to ensure a good impact, etc.

Eligibility

The training is for 40 people who:

  • Are able to work in English;
  • Are aged between 18 – 30 (some exceptions for 30+ will be possible);
  • Run youth projects (writing applications, implementing, reporting) for an international or local NGO registered with the EYF;
  • Are working as multipliers in their organisation;
  • Have had experience with grant applications to the EYF (successful or not) including first experiences working with the online system of the EYF.

Costs

Travel expenses and visa fees will be reimbursed (on presentation of the relevant receipts) according to Council of Europe rules. Only the participants who attend the whole meeting will be reimbursed. Payment will be made by bank transfer after the meeting. Accommodation and meals (full board) will be provided at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg for all participants (paid for by the Council of Europe). There is no registration fee.

The student association “Bourgogne Balkans Express” from the University Sciences Po Paris has for objective to promote relations between the Balkan states and the European Union and stimulate dialogue about challenges in the European integration.  “Bourgogne Balkans Express” is organizing  a conference on the topic “Environmental and economic challenges for the European integration of Western Balkans” that will take place in Belgrade and Skopje from the 12th till the 21st March 2016. Participants will have the opportunity to listen to experts from the fields of environment, finance and economics. They will also be able to exchange opinions and have interactive discussions, in that way making new friendships, exchanging experiences and discovering the Balkan culture.

Eligibility

The conference is intended to students from the French University Sciences Po Paris and young people aged 18-28 from the Balkans (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo).

Costs

There is no participation fee and accommodation and breakfast will be provided by the organizers. Participants need to pay for their trip to Belgrade and Skopje although there is the possibility that organizers refund the travel costs.

Description

Max Planck Sciences Po Center on Coping with Instability in Market Societies invites applications for doctoral fellowships. The recipients of the PhD fellowship will have to apply for formal enrollment in the doctoral program in sociology or political science of Sciences Po in Paris. The thesis project should be linked to MaxPo’s research program focused on coping with instability in market societies and the interests of the two research group leaders. The research themes should be located in economic sociology, political economy, economic or political history and can include:

  • Political, social and economic futures, forms of calculation, narration and futurity in the making of the economy, concepts of sustainability and (in) stability, austerity politics;
  • Sociology of financial markets, labor markets and inequality, the political and social consequences of economic crises.

Eligibility

  • The candidate has to hold a master’s degree (or equivalent);
  • Have received training in the following disciplines: sociology or political science, with additional training in related field such as economics, history, management, or philosophy;
  • Should have experience with qualitative and quantitative methods;
  • There is no nationality requirement;
  • A firm command of English and working knowledge of French or German are required.

Fellowship 

Fellowship amount and duration:

  • EUR 2,188 per month gross salary, about EUR 1,600 net;
  • Three-year contract starting on October 2016;
  • 12-week period of administrative service to MaxPo, preferably in the first year of the fellowship (to be negotiated with the PhD advisor);
  • A one-semester research stay at the MPIfG in Cologne, preferably during the third year.

Description

In close co-operation with the European Youth Foundation and the Council of Europe Youth Department, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe is inviting a number of young people to take an active part in its 30th and 31st sessions.

What is the Congress and what does taking part in its sessions involve? The primary role of the Congress is to promote local and regional democracy, improve local and regional governance and strengthen authorities’ self-government. It meets in session twice a year.

The aim of this meeting is to involve young people to take an active part in its 30th and 31st sessions the Congress, in co-operation with the Council of Europe Youth Department, aims to create a space for dialogue between the selected youth delegates and local and regional elected representatives and to enable young people to express their views on the issues being debated.

Eligibility

  • Have been resident in one of the Council of Europe member States for a minimum of five years;
  • Be a member of a local/regional youth council or parliament, or local/regional council or assembly or executive, or a representative of a youth NGO, or a youth-led structure, or involved in youth work, or a local or regional elected representative;
  • Speak English fluently and also during the sittings they speak in one of the official or working languages for which interpretation is provided (English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Turkish);
  • Applicants must also submit a short video, for example via YouTube, of no more than 30 seconds, to support their application. The link to the video should be sent together with the application;
  • Experience and motivation (in no more than 200 words for each reply: longer answers will be disregarded).

Costs

The youth delegates’ travel and subsistence expenses will be covered jointly by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities and the European Youth Foundation according to the Council of Europe’s rules. Accommodation will be provided and paid for by the organisers, in single-occupancy or shared rooms according to availability. The organisers cannot cover the cost of accommodation elsewhere.

Large scale European Voluntary Service Event will get together 50 young artists and craftsman from 33 countries!

Eligibility

  • 18 to 30 years old;
  • Interested in art, culture and nature;

Costs

Food, accommodation and all other project costs will be fully provided and paid by the organizers:

  • 3 meals per day ( tasty, vegetarian/vegan, home made);
  • Volunteers will live in Wolimierz, village at Izery mountain foot in Lower Silesia, south-western Poland;
  • Volunteers will be accommodated in tents;
  • Travel costs are reimbursed up to a certain amount of money, which is calculated according to the venue of travel and according to Erasmus + rules.

Call for participants: European Youth Media Days 2016

Description

The EYMD is one of the biggest events in Europe dedicated to young journalists. This year it will take place in the European Parliament seat in Strasbourg on 19 – 21 May 2016. Participants will experience three days of media workshops, political discussions, hands-on media production and invaluable insights into the European Parliament and international media milieu. They will interact with high-level European politicians, professional journalists and experts and engage in intercultural exchange through practical media production. Over the course of the three-day workshop, each young journalist will work to produce a report on the topic of the seminar through their medium of choice – video, photo, radio, print, multimedia or new media.

This year’s edition brings two innovations: new media workshop facilitated by journalists from German televisions and second TV workshop. The event will also provide an opportunity to experience the rich cultural diversity within the EU through the staging of various artistic performances. The EYE 2016 will include a large variety of activities connected by the motto “Together we can make a change” in a political, social and cultural sense.  Activities will focus on five main themes:

  1. War and Peace: Perspectives for a Peaceful Planet;
  2. Apathy or Participation: Agenda for a Vibrant Democracy;
  3. Exclusion or Access: Crackdown on Youth Unemployment;
  4. Stagnation or Innovation: Tomorrow’s World of Work;
  5. Collapse or Success: New Ways for a Sustainable Europe.

Eligibility

  • Open to young journalists;
  • Citizens or legal residents of the EU Member States;
  • 16-30 year-old;
  • Young journalists from any other countries can participate at their own costs and need to contact the organizers prior to March 15.

Costs

  • Travel costs will be reimbursed by the European Parliament 1 to 2 weeks after the event, upon submission of all necessary documents;
  • EP will also pay up to EUR 540 lump sum to working journalists (who need to provide a copy of their valid press card or a letter of instruction from their editor stating that they work as a paid journalist) or up to EUR 270 lump sum to journalism students or interns (who need to provide proof (e.g. in the form of a letter) from their university or from the organisation they are interning at) to cover accommodation, meals and local transport; will be reimbursed 1 to 2 weeks after the event;
  • For participants living in Strasbourg no lump sum or travel cost will be paid;
  • The young journalists chosen to participate will have to arrange their own accommodation and travel and provide the necessary documents to the European Parliament for reimbursement.

Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research Projects

Description

The new Musée Du Quai Branly (Quai Branly Museum) offer research fellowships to support PhD candidates and early career scholars in pursuing innovative research projects. The museum aims to support visitors according to their areas of interest, knowledge of the museum, availability and family and social situations, by offering guided tours, storytelling tours, courses, workshops, audio guides and more. The main objective of the university is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of the students. Since the language of instruction at French universities and colleges is French, applicants are required to prove their level of command of the French language.

Eligibility

  • Doctoral Fellowships: Three doctoral fellowships are offered to support PhD candidates in completing their dissertation; candidates must be at least in the third year (post-fieldwork writing stage) of their doctoral program during the academic year 2016-2017 (in a university in France or abroad). This fellowship scheme is not designed to fund fieldwork or archival research. It specifically concerns doctoral studies on non-Western topics and field sites;
  • Postdoctoral Fellowships: Applicants may apply for this scheme for up to 5 years after having been awarded their doctoral degree that is after the 1st of January 2011. In order to apply for the postdoctoral fellowships, the candidate’s Ph.D. thesis must be submitted at the latest by the end of 2016. No condition of nationality applies.

Fellowships

  • The doctoral fellowships are limited to a period of 12 months (non-renewable), from October the 1st to September the 30th of each year. They consist in a monthly allowance which in 2016 will be of 1,300 EUR net and will be awarded after assessment and selection of the applications by the Museum’s Scientific Committee. No condition of nationality applies;
  • The postdoctoral fellowships are limited to a period of 12 months (non-renewable), from October the 1st to September the 30th of each year. They consist in a monthly wage of 2,093.84 EUR gross in 2016.

Latvian Government Scholarships for Summer Schools

Description

The State Education Development Agency  of the Latvian Government is inviting applications for scholarships from students, researchers and teaching staff of several countries for studies, research and participation in summer schools in Latvian higher education institutions (HEIs) in the 2016/2017 academic year. There are 6 scholarships being available for each of the schools.

Eligibility

  • Citizens from eligible countries which have signed an Agreement with Latvia or offer scholarships for Latvian students can apply for the Latvian state scholarships;
  • Only students and academic staff of foreign HEIs are eligible for the Latvian scholarship for participation in summer schools;
  • Citizens from countries that offer scholarships for Latvian students, researchers and teaching stuff. 

Scholarships

  • The amount of the Latvian scholarship granted by the VIAA for summer school is 711 EUR per person for the duration of the summer school;
  • The scholarships will be transferred by the VIAA to the summer school organizers;
  • The participants  have to cover travel expenses from the country of origin to the summer school location in Latvia themselves.

Information on how to apply for the scholarship for participation in summer schools can be found on the website of the HEI organizing the summer school session. The website will give details for each summer school respectively on all the necessary documents:

  • Application form of the summer school;
  • Curriculum vitae;
  • Motivation letter.

The application package has to be sent directly to the organizers of the summer schools with the following exceptions: Lithuanian, Estonian, Czech, Hungarian and Polish candidates have to send the dossiers to the competent authorities of their countries (see HERE).

Nominations are open for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education 2016 with a motive to improve and promote the educational prospects of girls and women and in turn, the quality of their lives. The purpose of the Prize is to reward outstanding efforts of individuals, institutions or non- governmental organizations that contribute to the advancement of education for girls and women.

Eligibility

  • Prizes may be conferred upon individuals, institutions, or non-governmental organizations that have effectively promoted the advancement of girls’ and women’s education;
  • Focus on, for example: girls’ transition from primary education to lower-secondary education and their completion of full basic education; adolescent girls’ and young women’s acquisition of literacy skills creating gender-responsive and safe teaching-learning environments, free of school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV) the development of gender-responsive teaching attitudes and practices among teachers; and adolescent girls’ and young women’s acquisition of knowledge and skills to help their smooth transition from school to work and lead a fulfilling life.

Award Information The Prize is conferred on two laureates awarded with USD 50,000 each, to recognize their exceptional contributions and support their work in advancing education for girls and women.

Nocrich Scout Centre in Romania will run an European Voluntary Service project, starting in May 2016, that will last for 8 months. This EVS project, named “Find your talent”, is an opportunity of personal development for young people where they can experience volunteering, international scouting, living in a new country and multiculturality.

The volunteer will get to live in the Transylvanian village of Nocrich,  located 30 km away from Sibiu where the volunteer can discover traditions, nature and enjoy a lively atmosphere together with other scouts by making contribution to the local community and also having fun while discovering Romania and its culture.

If volunteering, scouting, learning a new language or travelling are things you want to check on your bucket list this year, you are more than welcomed to apply.

Eligibility

  • Two volunteers aged between 18 – 30;
  • Coming from the following countries: France, Finland, Germany, Italy and Portugal.

Benefits

Accommodation and food are covered by the organisation, you will also get some pocket money (EUR 60/month pocket money) and a refund for your international transportation to your country according to a lump sum.

Description

The Youth Peace Camps were initiated by the Council of Europe in 2003, in cooperation with Europa Park in Rust, Germany, to bring together young people from conflict regions and to support them in initiating dialogue and cooperation. In the past years the peace camp project brought together young people from the Middle East, Southeast and Eastern Europe. During the camp the participants followed an experiential learning process and acquired competences in the fields of intercultural learning, dialogue and conflict transformation, within a human rights framework. 

The Youth Peace Camp engages young people and youth organisations from conflict affected regions in dialogue and conflict transformation activities based on human rights education and intercultural learning during and after the camp.

Eligibility

In order to be considered eligible to apply, you must fulfill all of the following criteria:

  • Aged between 18 and 25 years;
  • Able to work in English;
  • Available and fully committed to take part in the Youth Peace Camp;
  • Curious, open-minded, appreciate diversity and learn about each other’s realities.
  • Motivated to learn and to apply the values and approaches of the Youth Peace Camp, notably human rights, democracy and intercultural dialogue;
  • Involved in youth or community projects in their community and be motivated to implement youth initiatives for peace-building following the residential meeting;
  • Possess a sense of responsibility for one’s own actions, a commitment to personal and community development and continue the engagement with other participants;
  • Preferably be involved in an organisation or network, institution, formal and/or informal group that is ready to support them throughout the project duration and afterwards when implementing youth initiatives for peace building.

The 2016 Youth Peace Camp will bring together young people from the following conflict affected communities :

  • Kosovo, participants coming from Albanian, Serbian and other backgrounds;
  • Ukraine, especially from border regions and from Luhansk and Donetsk;
  • The Russian Federation, especially young people directly affected by conflicts in Georgia and Ukraine;
  • South Caucasus, in particular from border regions and ethnic minorities.

Costs

  • Travel expenses: will be reimbursed upon presentation of the relevant receipts, according to the rules of the Council of Europe. Only the participants who attend the entire Youth Peace Camp may be reimbursed;
  • Visa expense: the Council of Europe will issue invitation letter for the purpose of gaining visa’s to all participants; after being approved , will be reimbursed upon presentation of the relevant receipts;
  • Accommodation: board and lodging at the seminar will be provided and paid for by the Council of Europe at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg.

A letter of support from their sending organisation or institution can be uploaded on the platform or sent separately by e-mail, fax or post, to express support offered throughout the project to the participant and his/her initiatives. Foundation House of Human Sciences (FMSH) is delighted to offer Gerda Henkel Stiftung fellowships for Postdoctoral Research programme. The Foundation provides modern educational and research environments that will enable students and researchers to face current challenges and to focus on knowledge as a principle driving force for development.

As part of the partnership between the Gerda Henkel Stiftung and the College of Global Studies, two post-doctoral fellowships will be awarded in July 2016 for a period of 12 months, two young researchers residing outside France. The post-doctoral researchers will be welcomed as part of one of the chairs or the College of global studies research initiatives. The research projects presented must register as part of the general science policy of the College of global studies and especially around of one of two research themes:

  • Social Progress and Global Justice: Disciplines concerned: philosophy, political science, sociology, anthropology, history and philosophy of law, history or philosophy of economics;
  • Remapping Space in the Global Era: Disciplines concerned: philosophy, political science, anthropology, sociology, history, art history, aesthetics.

Eligibility

Review of applications will focus on the quality of the scientific record and that of the post-doctoral project and its inclusion in the research lines of the College of Global Studies. The eligibility conditions are the following:

  • Holders of a doctorate at the date of application filing (thesis);
  • Have resided less than twelve months in France over the last three years;
  • The application can be filed up to 6 years after the date of defense of the thesis;
  • A common practice of the French language is desired.

Fellowship

  • The amount of the postdoctoral fellowship is EUR 2,000 per month;
  • The transport costs of the country of residence to Paris will be borne by the host institution;
  • The medical insurance costs are the responsibility of the post-doctoral student.

Connecting Youth “Western Balkans Youth Conference” in Paris

The European Commission and the Government of the French Republic, supported by the European Youth Forum and SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre, are launching a Call for Applications to the Western Balkans Youth Conference. The Connecting Youth conference will take place in Paris, 4 July 2016, in the margins of the Western Balkans Summit. Connecting Youth will bring together 150 young people from the EU and Western Balkans countries, to discuss common challenges and work towards finding joint solutions.

The participants will join forces in 4 parallel groups working on the following topics:

  • Youth on the move, education on the move – Education and mobility for young people;
  • Knocking on job market’s doors – Employment and entrepreneurship for young people;
  • Not just another brick in the wall – Youth engagement & participation;
  • Get up, stand up, speak up! – Youth and the media.

Eligibility

  • Citizens of one of the EU Member States or the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo , Montenegro, or Serbia);
  • Aged between 18 to 35 years at the time of the event;
  • Fluent in English (level C1 under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
  • Members of youth or student organisations will be favored during the selection process.

Costs

The European Commission will make the necessary travel and accommodation arrangements for selected participants. Please refrain from making any specific individual travel or accommodation arrangements. Catering will be provided during the Conference.

Description

Nantes Creative Generations (NCG) is a programme set up by Nantes Métropole and the City of Nantes, in partnership with local NGOs, toward young adults between 18 to 30 years old from Nantes and all over Europe. This is the core NCG event. The Forum, which takes place every year in the autumn, aims to bring together young people to present their innovative and inspirational projects linked to citizenship. The 2016 Forum will take place in Nantes on 26-29 October.

This is a forum for dialogue about the realities affecting young people in Europe, and also a time for work and thinking – a genuine melting pot of ideas and cultures. As well as showcasing their own projects, participants will have the chance to learn from peers across Europe and to gain better understanding of the European dimension of local projects.

Over the course of 3 days in Nantes, participants from every background are invited to:

  • Present a project or initiative;
  • Share best practice;
  • Develop skills in setting up projects in Europe;
  • Meet potential future partners with a view to setting up across-border projects which could be funded by the Cooperation Prize;
  • Have discussions with other young Europeans;
  • Take part in cultural and social events.

Eligibility

To apply to the NCG on Forum, you need to:

  • Be between 18 and 30 years old;
  • Live in the Nantes metropolitan area or in a Council of Europe member state;
  • Have an idea or project for “living together”, which promotes solidarity, fosters cultural exchanges and encourages greater respect for and openness towards others, etc.

Costs

Transport, accommodation and food costs of European participants are covered by Nantes Métropole (Maximum 2 participants per project). Please note that participants are asked to book their transport tickets themselves. The organization will then refund travel expenses up to EUR 400 per person, according to the original receipts and tickets sent by the participants. Refunds are provided approximately 2 months after the Forum.

EU-Western Balkans Civil Society Forum in Paris

European Alternatives, ERSTE Foundation, the European Fund for the Balkans, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, the Charles Leopold Mayer Foundation and Citizens for Europe are coming together to organize a 2-day Civil Society Forum in Paris, as a follow up to the Civil Society Forum held in Vienna in August 2015, and in Novi Sad and Belgrade in May 2016. The aim is to establish an ongoing process of civil society dialogue and collaboration across the Western Balkans and the EU.

In order to establish an ongoing dialogue, the website of Citizens for Europe will be used to collect positions, proposals and events from civil society actors. No matter if you want to participate in the forum or not, you are invited to share your ideas online until 1 July. Your positions will be collected and fed into the debates in Paris.

On the occasion of the 3rd intergovernmental summit of Western Balkans and EU countries to be held in Paris on the 4th July 2016, European Alternatives invite applications from civil society actors to participate in the Civil Society Forum to work towards this new vision of togetherness.

The Forum will work on four main policy areas which have been identified as priorities for the Western Balkans and are likely to be discussed by political leaders: migration, climate change and green growth, bilateral disputes and youth cooperation and also transversal issues of democratic governance, the role of civil society and respect of fundamental rights.

The two days of activities will be structured around workshops, dialogue with European and national parliamentarians, cultural activities and an open public citizen’s summit on European solidarity.

Eligibility

This forum is open to all civil society actors.

Cost

A limited number of full cost bursaries is available to attend the Forum. In the application form, please indicate if you would like to apply for this bursary, or if you are able to cover your own travel to and accommodation in Paris.

TALK.France is inviting young citizens to join to the new project : Street TALK, which will take place throughout the year 2016-2017 in Paris, Tirana and Berlin. The project consists in 3 weeks of seminars and workshops in the 3 countries to conduct together artistic creation and exchange on topics of Freedom of Movement and Freedom of Expression.

Street Talk : Walls VS Walls is a unique opportunity for young artists and Street Art amateurs from Europe to get to know each other, share, experience and learn from each other through discussion, debates and artistic creation. During each week of the program, the participants will have the opportunity to paint a wall together in each city of the program and discover each other’s cultures while living together during 3 weeks and attending different workshops: Photo trips in the cities, Film screening and debates, discovering Other’s language through typography workshop, Language animation sessions..

This project is organized by TALK.France, ROSI France, Street Art Berlin, Association L.E.M.U.RShërbimi Kombëtar për Rininë (Youth National agency of Albania) and the European College of Kosovo, in cooperation with OFAJ/DFJW (Franco-German Youth Office).

Eligibility

  • Young citizens from France, Germany and Albania, aged 18-30. Applicants from the Republic of Kosovo are also welcome to the project;
  • The participants must have good knowledge of basic English (from B1 level ) to take part in the program;
  • Young people with a first experience of Street Art or any other relevant artistic field will be preferred;
  • Young people with less opportunities of mobility, from sensitive/isolated urban or rural areas will be also preferred in the selection process, in order to respect OFAJ/DFJWStrategy “Participation and Diversity”;
  • Participants need to hold a valid passport for the duration of the seminars. EU citizens should have a valid passport to enter on Albania in December 2016.

Costs

  • Participation fee for French and German participants is EUR 50.
  • Participation fee for Albanians and citizens of Kosovo is EUR 30.

The fees cover :

  • Accommodation and food during the 3 weeks of seminars in Paris, Tirana and Berlin;
  • Travel expense for non-local participants, i.e. the participants will only have to take in charge the travel expense for the session that will take place in their country (example : If you are French, you will have to pay for your transportation to the seminar place in Paris, but you will be reimbursed the travel costs for the Berlin and Tirana session);
  • Material for painting, Street Art Trainers and intervention of Guest Speakers and events.

Tandem Shaml supported by the European Cultural Foundation is an international exchange program that supports long-term collaborations, knowledge development and networking opportunities in Europe and Arab countries.

The one-year exchange program will select 16 cultural organizations, eight from Europe and eight from the Arab Region for the upcoming round. It will take place September 2016 to September 2017, in Amman, Jordan and Marseille, France, a location to be decided in the Arab region, followed by another city in Europe.

The programme schedule:

  • 5-day Partner Forum in in Amman (14 – 18 September 2016);
  • 5-day Kick-Off Meeting incl. learning workshops in Marseille (December 2016);
  • Mutual 12-day working visits (placements) (January – September 2017);
  • 5-day Interim Meeting in the Arab Region (May 2017);
  • 5-day Final Meeting in Europe (September 2017).

Eligibility

  • Be based in the Arab region OR in a European country;
  • Be an independent cultural NGO, a non-hierarchical and open-minded public institution or a civil society initiative which is well rooted in a local community and has an established professional network;
  • Have the (organisational and financial) capacity, ambition and experience to engage in a one year intensive international exchange programme;
  • Commit to providing sufficient working time of one cultural manager.

Funding

  • Start-up funding of EUR 5,000 for a Tandem pilot project as well as reimbursement of travel and living expenses during the four Tandem meetings and during the placements;
  • 12-day working placement at the Tandem partner organisation;
  • 4 international meetings with moderated peer to peer learning sessions and input by experienced trainers;
  • Ongoing expert advice for the development of the cross-border collaborations and the artistic and cultural co-productions;
  • Becoming part of the Tandem network of more than 250 cultural managers coming from ca. 35 countries in wider Europe.
